David Jackson

David trained as a vet in Slovakia after completing a biochemistry degree at Cambridge. He has worked for 13 years in small animal practice, largely in Cornwall in a busy hospital, and spent time in Thailand and Sri Lanka treating street dogs. He developed a strong interest in internal medicine and completed a medicine and oncology internship at Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists, before joining Bristol Vet Specialists to continue his training in medicine.
David likes that internal medicine reminds the practitioner daily of the amazing complexity of living organisms and he values the interaction it provides with pet-owners, where often a strong bond develops as diagnostics and treatment proceed. He has a particular interest in endocrinology and immune-mediated diseases.
