Senior Feline Nurse

Qualifications:

  • DipRVN
  • ISFM Cert FN

Amy graduated in 2017 as an RVN and worked for 12 years in a busy first opinion practice in South Wales, with patients ranging from dogs and cats to red pandas and parrots! Whilst there, Amy gained a keen interest in feline medicine where she completed a BVNA oral care certificate and an ISFM feline nursing certificate, before fulfilling her goal to become a feline nurse with us here at Bristol vet specialists.

Shortly after Amy graduated as an RVN she developed epilepsy as a side effect of a Cavernoma in her temporal lobe and needed corrective surgery to stop the seizures. Because of her own experiences she feels very strongly about giving compassionate nursing care and support to both patients and their owners, and likes to advocate awareness of feline friendly handling and ways to keep all patients as stress free as possible. She feels very lucky to be working and learning here at Bristol vet specialists and can’t wait to see what the future holds.
