Charlie Makepeace
Consultant in Anaesthesia and Analgesia

Charlie graduated from the University of Bristol in 2016. After graduating he worked in rural mixed first opinion practice in South Devon for 18 months before moving to London to work in small animal practice for one year. His specialisation started after, completing a yearlong anaesthesia internship at the University of Liverpool.
After a short stint in an emergency and critical care role in Birmingham, Charlie returned to the University of Bristol to complete a 3-year residency programme in Anaesthesia and Analgesia. Charlie joined Bristol Vet Specialists in January of 2024.
He has a specific clinical interest in blood pressure management and blood gas analysis, as well as a passion for teaching of nursing and junior staff within in the hospital enviroment. He is a member of the Association of Veterinary Anaesthetists.
Outside of work Charlie enjoys a plethora of sports, from surfing to long distance running, but when feeling less active can be found reading poetry and discovering new music.
