Mafalda graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Lisbon, Portugal, in 2022. Following graduation, she worked in a first opinion veterinary practice in Lisbon before moving to Glasgow to complete an Oncology and Internal Medicine Internship at Vets Now Referrals. She subsequently undertook a Rotating Internship at the University of Glasgow Veterinary School.
In 2025, Mafalda joined Bristol Vet Specialists to begin her Residency in Veterinary Oncology. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary oncology, with a particular interest in medical oncology, and finds supporting patients and their families throughout their treatment journey particularly rewarding.
