Smaragda graduated from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, in 2020. Following her graduation, she gained valuable experience working in first-opinion practice and completed an internship at Aristotle University. During this time, Smaragda developed a keen interest in veterinary anaesthesia and Emergency & Critical Care (ECC).
In 2023, she relocated to the UK, where she undertook a specialised internship in Anaesthesia and Analgesia at The Ralph Veterinary Referral Centre. She then moved to Bristol to begin her residency in Anaesthesia and Analgesia at Bristol Vet Specialists.
Smaragda enjoys all aspects of her role, with a particular focus on the anaesthetic management of critically ill patients and complex cases. She is also eager to expand her expertise in ultrasound-guided locoregional anaesthesia.
Outside of work, Smaragda loves spending time with her friends and family and enjoys hiking and swimming.
